Scout AI

The Hunting Assistant That Has Read Your Map

Scout is an AI assistant that works from your actual property, not from general hunting advice. It knows the stands you have pinned, the boundary you drew, your cameras, your habitat areas, your target bucks, your hunt journal and the live weather on that ground — and it answers questions about that ground specifically. It can also do things: turn layers on, drop a stand, draw a route, log a sighting, rank your stands for tomorrow evening.

What Scout can answer

Ask it the questions you would ask a hunting partner who knows the place:

  • “Which of my stands should I sit tomorrow on a northwest wind?”
  • “Where is the best bedding on this property and why?”
  • “Show me where my scent goes from the creek stand this evening.”
  • “What did I see the last three times I hunted the pine stand?”
  • “Is the pressure model saying anything different since I added that ATV trail?”

It answers with your stand names, your terrain and the current forecast — and it says so when it does not know.

It can run the app for you

Scout is not a chat window bolted onto a map. It can operate the app directly, so the map changes while you talk to it:

  • Turn any layer or overlay on and off — satellite, topo, lidar, parcels, habitat, the refuge model, wind and scent
  • Drop a stand, camera, or any marker, and rename, move or retype one
  • Draw a route or a habitat shape, and edit or delete one
  • Log a hunt journal entry or a buck sighting, stamped automatically with wind, temperature, pressure, moon and rut phase
  • Rank your stands for a chosen date and hour, and plan a hunt
  • Read the terrain — elevation, benches and pinch points — and explain a spot
  • Create, rename, switch or share a property
  • Set your wind, set a stand’s best winds, and navigate you to a stand

That list is what Scout is actually wired to do inside the app; it is not a description of a roadmap.

What it reads

  • Your property boundary, habitat areas, food plots, cover and sanctuaries
  • Every stand, blind, camera, scrape, rub, bed and marker you have pinned, with their best winds and reservations
  • Your routes — walk-in trails and access
  • Your hunt journal and every logged sighting, including which buck and where
  • Live weather and the hourly forecast for that property, plus the rut phase for your county
  • The terrain itself — elevation, slope and the lidar-derived shape of the ground

What Scout will not do

It does not claim to know where a specific deer is. It does not invent sightings you did not log, and it does not pretend a property it has never seen data for is mapped. When the honest answer is “there is not enough on this map yet,” that is the answer you get — the fix is to map more of your ground, and Scout will tell you which part is missing.

Common questions

What is Scout?

Scout is the AI assistant built into Contors. It reads the hunter’s own property data — stands, boundaries, cameras, markers, routes, journal entries, sightings and live weather — and answers questions about that specific ground. It can also operate the app: toggling layers, adding markers, drawing routes, logging sightings and ranking stands for a given wind.

Is Scout just ChatGPT with a hunting prompt?

No. The difference is the data it works from. A general chatbot can describe hunting concepts; Scout is given the hunter’s actual map, markers, history and current conditions, and it can act on that map. Ask it which of your stands to sit tomorrow and it names one of your stands and gives a terrain and wind reason.

Do I need to map my property before Scout is useful?

Yes, and it is quick. Draw your boundary and drop your stands and cameras — or ask Scout to do it. The more of your ground it knows, the more specific its answers become. With nothing mapped it can only answer general questions.

Is Scout included in the free plan?

Yes, with a taste of Scout on the free plan so you can see what it does on your own ground. Pro gives you more questions and keeps you on the smarter model for longer; Unlimited gives the most headroom.
